How to sign up as a manager

Every Tennis Tipping player is allowed to do managing. New managers usually start with challenger tournaments but there is no rule on it. If you want to manage a tournament, make sure that you have enough time every day to do the updates and post the differences. You just have to ask for a free tournament in the TT Managers thread and the thread owner (Marto) will confirm your managing by adding your name on the front page - or in case of any absence one of the other Board Members.

Please make sure you update your front pages when your event ends - these are used by Gavin and Sergio for their rankings.

If anybody has any questions on any aspects of managing or wants to try out but is unsure on anything – the Board Members are :-

Hello everyone.

This Tennis Tipping Season 14 :sport:

Usual things like every year

- max 2 tourneys per manager/per month
- 10 days to apply
- give atleast one back-up choice
- new managers should start with challengers

@a1canada, will be able to take AO, because I will travel to Munich for 2 days during the tournament.

Max two tournaments per managers, put a BU and new managers should start with challengers.

A changes which can make

Week 1 : Playford (AUS) or Waco (USA) can replace Noumea
Week 2 : Da Nang (VIE) can replace any of two challenger

I would like to take Rennes. Actually I’d rather take Quimper if @dinkulpus would be ok giving up Quimper or changing with Rennes (or accepting me as an assistant?) I would be very happy! I know the city very well since I spent every summer of my childhood close to Quimper and my father lives in the Bretagne. I might even be there in February and provide you with lots of fun and interesting facts about Quimper and the tournament ?

Great to see so much interest in managing right off the bat. Hopefully the non qualy challengers encourage more new players to manage with less draws and deadlines to manage.

2019 managers please note the following rule changes that were voted in:

PROPOSED RULE: Indian Wells and Miami (128 draw tournaments) should be like the Grand Slams move to one deadline that will be set the day before qualifying starts.

PROPOSED RULE: Add official Laver Cup tournament to the schedule, with top European and top Rest of World selecting their teams in early August (with a limit of 2 players of the same nationality). No points awarded - players can play both Laver Cup and a regular tournament the same week.

PROPOSED RULE: No qualifying for the new Challenger tournaments - everything starts on Monday, with commitments however remaining open only till Friday at 6pm CEST to sync with ATP calendar.

PROPOSED RULE: Late entries ordered by commitment time rather than ranking.

PROPOSED RULE: Point structure for both IW & MIAMI , in between a typical MASTERS 500 POINTS and GS 1000 POINTS at 750 POINTS , as it's harder then a Typical MASTERS but not as difficult with quite as many 2 day rounds as a GS.

PROPOSED RULE: Allowing top 30 players to play challengers any week of the season, only as TOP 30 LE, on bottom of ENTRY LIST with highest ranking top 30 player at bottom of list.

PROPOSED RULE: Allowing picks to be forwarded by the player who posts the OOP if not the MANAGER , as long as it is forwarded by the send deadline.

PROPOSED RULE: New Davis Cup Format: TT DC to follow ITF's changes.

PROPOSED RULE: If a set is fully played I think we should consider it for “set to the winner”, “TB” or “PTS” purpose... retirement are usually unfair

A few important ones for managers:

- Indian Wells and Miami are now like Grand Slams for entry lists/deadlines. Maybe I can manage again now.

- Late entries now ordered by commitment date not ranking. No more waiting till 10 minutes before final deadline, first come first serve (this is a good change)

- Picks can be forwarded by the OOP poster.

- Top 30 players can play challengers any week of the year.

- Laver Cup official event in 2019.

And the big one

- PTS1 now counts if only one set was played. Good luck to whoever figures out how this will work - full disclosure its not going to be me.
