Tennis Tipping #5a - ATP CUP

What is Tennis Tipping?

In the game, participants pick the winners of all main draw matches and are placed in a knock-out system. That means each participant plays a different participant and whoever predicted the winner of most matches correctly, moves on to the next round. The same applies for doubles, but you're in a team format and your scores are combined.
Note:
  • In case of a tie, a tie-breaker will decide who moves on to the next round.
  • In case a player (i.e. the actual ATP Player) retires in a match, this match will be counted as long as one point has been played. If players are replaced by a lucky loser after the start of Tennis Tipping, these matches will be cancelled.
How to Sign-Up:

This event is by invitation ONLY -- must have played A week 1 event 2021

Tennis Tipping Rules & Questions - MensTennisForums.com

How to send in picks:

Picks can be sent in as soon as the draws are ready. Remember, you pick a winner in every match! Picks should be sent by PM (Conversation) , so that your opponent does not know your picks. Picks can be sent in anytime until the beginning of play each day. If you're still in both singles & doubles, you use the same tips for both. For doubles, you still tip the ATP singles matches, not the doubles! No changes can be made after the play has started.

PRECAUTIONARY MEASURE
If the board goes down as has happened before, send your picks to

Wesley, could you provide us with a bit more detailed standings that would include winners, SRs, STW, etc?

I was looking for a solution to 2 matches cancelled on day 1 , which will have an unfair effect, so working on a plan to eliminate 2 NID matches from day 2 and 3 results so that it is even if the unlikely happens on day 3, and Group A and D end up tied. Best I can come up with after much thoughts, is 2 matches all picked 2-0.
Group AIndividual winsWinners/SR/STW
CHN 1-03-010-7-0
CAN 1-13-314-13-5
IRL 0-10-38-8-0

GROUP BIndividual winsWinners/SR/STW
ARG 1-03-010-6-0
NED 1-02-18-8-2
USA 0-21-516-13-3

GROUP CIndividual winsWinners/SR/STW
ITA 1-03-08-8-2
BRA 1-02-19-7-1
SRB 0-21-516-14-2

GROUP DIndividual winsWinners/SR/STW
GBR 1-03-08-8-2
RUS 1-13-317-17-3
GER 0-10-38-6-2

GROUP B & C -- winner advances as 2-0 in group

GROUP A -- 1 individual win by CHN to advance to SF , otherwise IRL can overcome with 3-0 and make up Score deficit also.

GROUP D -- 1 individual win by GBR and they advance to SF, otherwise GER 3-0 would make 3 way tie and settled by Scores.

I was thinking pick percentage. followed by SR percentage, etc. So CAN and IRL would be correct picks out of 28, while CHN would be correct picks out of 32. Nothing is ever totally going to be 100% fair as we're picking different matches. If there was a bunch of upsets this coming day for example me and you would be advantaged because we didn't have to pick the upset heavy day. But IMO 18/32 is better than 14/28 so removing 4 obvious matches from tomorrow which drops the 18/32 to 14/28 and causes a tie wouldn't be fair. Similar to how the ATP uses set and game percentage to break ties when teams play different numbers of sets or games which is inevitable.

Feels like we have basically no chance regardless.

yes I think there is no perfect way
Looks like RAFA is already out, so at least that evens day 1 and 3, so the 2 NID RUS matches on day 2 makes it about as even as I can .
we are out with SHAPO , so close though, was a great diff to sweat until 12:30 last night, thought I had it at mini break in TB, oh well was a more fun day then the boring match we won on :censored: that PAIRE pick though

Of course the rare miracle happens so will pay attention to last matches.
