....when their backhand is world class..... and their forehand the most mediocre thing ever.....

Name them:

Bernard Tomic! Dude has a ridiculous backhand  and he uses his footwork to play the forehand, which A) has no fucking pace on it and B) less width and/or depth. Just watching him now versus Samantha and MY GAAAWD... what a muppet of the highest caliber. Has been doing it all his career thus far and I just cannot get what goes through his skull?!

Who are other tennis muppets that do this?

Tomic just hit like 10 thunderbolt forehand winners in the last 5 minutes. Exquisite timing with this thread.

Bernard has one of the greatest forehands in the game right now.

His backhand has been particularly subpar when compared to the forehand tonight.

Numerous forehand winners have been struck from the Aussie; he even took the first set with a return BHDTL.

Running around the backhand opens up extreme angles.

Leng Jai, the occasional forehand winner is fine. I am talking about in general. Obviously when he has AGES to play the shot, his forehand can hit a winner, but in a rally where both players are hitting deep with relative pace and power, this muppet always tries to manage his feet to getting him a forehand. Just watch it for the rest of this match now, you will eventually see what I mean. It's subtle.

Murray seemed to do this a lot last season, though he did seem to be struggling with his BH in fairness.
Djokovic does it quite often, but Djokovic's forehand since 2012/2013 has become world class. It's not far behind his back... so if given the choice you can see why he's choosing for it. Must feel he can open up that extra bit of angle with the forehand.

Yeah, Murray has been doing it often, but seriously, the level of difference between Tomic's forehand and backhand is a joke. Especially when he hasn't got achors of time to hit the ball.

There's not a massive discrepancy between his backhand and forehand. His backhand is more reliable but his forehand generates far more winners (which is pretty typical on the men's tour). The fact that he hits no pace shots is down to his own playing style rather than the stroke itself.

The only guys I've seen who actively avoid this are Paire, Gasquet and Brian Vahaly. Even Gasquet seems to fancy his forehand at times despite it being a vastly inferior shot.

Sure it may be a little unorthodox, but it's one of the most effective flat-forehands on tour today.

He plays like a game of squash.

Well except on some big matches against Nadal. In the 2011 USO final he hit the inside out/in forehands a lot and he demolished rafa in 4. In the 2012 AO final on his best surface he did not run around his BH enough so he only closed it out in 5 sets on his best surface. In the 2013 USO final he avoided the inside forehands and lost it in 4. I only watched these matches closely but I think this is a reason for some of his losses. Wawrinka in the AO 13, AO 14 especially started to use the inside forehands more, I think this is the particular reason why he was able to win a slam.
I am a huge fan of the inside in and out so I might be biased, but you need that shot to be competitive in the game today. You cannot be a world class player if you dont use this tactic.

The ONLY muppet is the OP here.

Backhand CAN NOT have better pace than Forehand by definition ffs !! Its "Fore.." for a reason !
Oh go away, you fricken, whoever you are....:( you don';t understand tennis, you are not involved in tennis, you're just someone that finds a crush on Rafael Nadal and champions him in your every post and thread. Boring to the fucking core. Keep in the 'hottest male tennis players' thread, you'll get a lot of mental joy and stimulation from that. :yeah: Muppet.

PS: It's not called FORE for that reason, you presumption muppet. Quit acting like you know what you're talking about by filling in blanks using tool logic. Just because it takes longer to prepare for the backhand, doesn't mean it can't be a stronger more powerful shot and it's not called fore for a reason, or the reason you think  You thought you were so smart thinking that one up, didn't you? MUPPET!!!!!

You are right there! It's a more solid shot and a technically more cleaner shot. He gets more 'tear' through the court with the backhand, but his forehand he can place with a little better.

He was hitting his forehand a lot better today, than compared to his norm. Then again, this is Tomic in Australia, he tanks everywhere else bearing Wimbledon and perhaps the odd 250 series tourney he likes the look of.

Yeah, it's unconventional and technically a hindrance at times, particularly on shots he's not on the frontfoot with. It's not a bad shot, I just feel there are plenty of times where he is making life a hell of a lot harder. Today he was fine because he was playing a bloke that couldn't move him around too much, but in matches where he's up against better movers, who also have power, that's when you really see how wrong some of his decisions are to run around the backhand.

Gulbis, one of the few players who actually got a better backhand than forehand. Paire and Gasquet have already been mentioned.
Did you read the OP mate?
