Guardian reports:

"Police have arrested six Melbourne men in relation to an alleged betting syndicate with suspected links to fixed tennis matches in Australia and overseas.

Detectives are investigating allegations that a number of bets were placed on tennis matches where police allege the outcome was predetermined by at least one player in each match.

The men were arrested on Friday morning after Purana Task Force investigators executed eight warrants around the greater Melbourne region.

The men, aged between 26 and 40, are now assisting police with their investigations.

They will be questioned in relation to illegal match fixing."

A MELBOURNE man has been charged with match fixing after allegedly rigging tennis matches in Australia and overseas.

The 27-year-old was bailed by police this afternoon on two charges of using corrupt conduct information for betting purposes, and drug offences.

He will appear in Melbourne’s Magistrates Court on September 25. Detectives also questioned five other Melbourne men in relation to the alleged betting syndicate but they were released pending further inquiries.

The investigations relate to allegations a number of bets were placed on tennis matches where the outcome was predetermined by at least one player in each match.

Tennis Australia says they are working with authorities to weed out the suspected illegal activity.

“We take these types of allegations very seriously and are committed to upholding the integrity of the sport,” Tennis Australia business compliance and risk manager Ann West said in a statement.

“We’ll continue to work with Victoria Police and associated agencies on this matter.”

Wonder who's involved... Or if this investigation will even find anything...
