I can't seem to find a thread for this topic, so I am going to start a new one.
It is easier to post pictures here than going into each player thread, too much work .

Congrats to Team USA on their victory over the favored Swiss Team 3-0 on indoor clay.

Round 1 World Group

FRIBOURG, SWITZERLAND: It was a result no one could have predicted. USA have swept aside Switzerland 3-0 to reach the quarterfinals and leave Roger Federer's Davis Cup record in tatters.

Mike Bryan combined with Mardy Fish, who defeated Wawrinka in five sets on Friday, winning the doubles rubber 46 63 63 63.

.......A stunning display on day one put USA in a dominant position in this blockbuster Davis Cup by BNP Paribas World Group first round clash in Fribourg. Wawrinka went down to Fish 26 64 64 16 79 in the opening rubber, before Federer lost his 15-match unbeaten Davis Cup singles run by falling in four sets to the big serving John Isner.

Re: Team USA - Davis Cup - 2012

It looks more likely that France, if they do beat Canada, will be the next opponent. I was hoping for Canada's victory. Was hoping for indoor hardcourt in Canada than another claycourt in France.

Team USA probably has a higher chance of beating the Canadiens than the French. Raonic is good, but not that great in doubles. And after watching young Pospisil last night, I don't think he is experienced enough to beat Big John and Mardy on a fast hardcourt.

Quoting myself from GM
BTW, I am not complaining as Ryan's fan, but why Jim didn't call Young? The Don have a chance for Olys, and he desperately needs DC tie for it.
I think Jim should call Don. Probably he damaged Ryan's spring season by it (it will be too tough for Ryan to switch to American hard tourneys now) and ruined Don's chances for olmpics in the same time.

I believe they held a DC training camp back in December with several players, Donlad was invited as well. Maybe they feel that Ryan gives them a better chance on clay than Donald.
