Today, I decided to take the scenic route home rather than endure the afternoon traffic.

Where I go, the scenery is so beautiful, it's worth a postcard or two. The sun casting its rays on the hillsides, illuminating the blue grass and the houses and barns, is a splendid Polaroid moment. I really wish now that I had a digital camera.

I'm glad I took the long way home today. It was a relaxing ride, viewing the homes and scenic areas that the countryside is so well-known for. I could've done without the smell of liquor coming from the distillery (and I wonder how people could live remotely close to it) or even the potholes in certain places, but it was OK. I guess that's what makes the country, the country.

I won't rule out buying a house out in the country, just to get away from it all. I love the fresh air and peaceful quiet that rural life provides. Maybe when I get a teaching job, I may consider staying close by-that is, if nothing is being offered in the major markets.

Hey, maybe we can move out into the countryside together.
Have 12 kids, and a dog named Humpfry.
