Fognini was satisfied with the 1st set win and decided to head to Melbourne.
awesome :D:D:D

but typical fognini  swearing, throwing rackets, not even trying in the last 2 sets...

No.1 seed defeated (albeit probably the worst #1 seed in history) in second match after comeback. Not bad, Delpo :yeah:
Fog gave 0 shits in the last 2 sets but still a good win for JMDP to get himself back into the swing of things. FH looked massive
Haven`t watched Del Potro`s matches this week. How do u guys see him?Any chance he can do some damage at the AO or does he have fitness problems and can`t last best of 5 set matches?
Thanks.
#1 seed beaten by world #338, massive upset, no?

More like living legend of the game defeats clown. del Potro is amazing, second wrist surgery, a year out of the tour and he's already beating top 20 players (granted a pretty weak top 20 player) in his second match back, and that FH is looking fearsome. You really have to wonder how different the tennis landscape would have been without his injuries.

Kukushkin next, more than winnable, vamos!

From what I saw today, probably not. May make it to the 3rd round, depending on which seed he'd get in his bracket. Otherwise he has to adjust his game greatly. Probably can become something like a Lopez in terms of slice/topspin backhand ratio, with a weaker serve but a better forehand.
Wins the first set and then after going down a break in the second gives 0 effort the rest of the match. Only Fognini...

Dire post.

I know he won`t be seeded so he can get anyone in R1.Any chance if he gets a good seed like Berdych,Dimitrov,Ferrer...that he can go toe to toe with them regardless of the endresult?
My guess is he isn`t yet at the level to compete with the likes of Djokovic,Federer,Wawrinka or Murray.

Like I said, he may get past a seed like Fognini or Kohlschreiber or someone like this, but I can't see him beating anyone in the top 16 seeds in this kind of form, not in his 2nd tournament coming back. Later, maybe.

The top 16 seeds include Lopez, RBA, Anderson, Robredo and Fognini himself...

Alright, I thought Fognini was 17 but I think he's a serious underdog against any of other 4 you've listed. Especially RBA, Robredo, and Anderson.

Also, not a favorite against Isner, Simon, Goffin, Karlovic, I believe Mayer...
Dire post.
Pretty awful.

Anyway expected result. Didn't watch after the second - waste of time.
Dire post.
Really.

No fan should be happy that his idol won against Fognini. There's no glory into that.
