oh well Gasquet was serving for the match and then got broken.
Andreev had set points and then blew them.

Allez Richard. A little stumble but he got through it.

I thought we were going to third when he was down 3-6 in tiebreak.
That was the Gasquet of 2007. The Gasquet of 2008 will be different. :D (I hope :tape:)

Well done, Richard! :D

I was very afraid during the 2nd set tie break. I really thought there would be a 3rd set when there were setpoints for Andreev. :tape:

Good start to the year, but did anyone manage to actually watch the match? Did he play well?

Frenchmen are on fire today. None of them lost a match in Sydney and Auckland

the tie-break was quite tense, especially as gasquet had put in several double faults that landed him in that situation in the games prior to it. even when he was trailing, he held his nerve, and came through with some spectacular play. i was definitely impressed with his mental fortitude tonight.....is this the start of a more mature, new gasquet??

Not a great start of season for Gasquet, considering Andreev's current form (he took 6-0 6-1 against Johansson last week ffs!).
He'll have to seriously up his game if he doesn't want to go out early in the next round against Tursunov or Wawrinka.

Thanks!

So, it was more Richard who won it in the end, instead of Igor losing it?

How was his overall play in both sets?

Hey Richie21 long time no see.
I just want to ask on behalf of Korean fans of Gasquet.
I thought your username has been unchanged since 2005, but they are wondering if you'll change your username to richie22 in June this year.

Every match is different and you can't take Igor early loss that took place on Jan 1.. that should tell you something.. :aparty:
