if you play few ST tournaments here and there, then yes, it is fun taking a risk and playing to win the tournament.
But if you decide to stick with ST and play the entire season, then the smart thing to do is to maximize the amount of points and win YE No.1.

It is still not too late to continue playing every tournament from now on and to attempt to qualify for WTF where we have slightly different format (you can pick the players twice)
To be completely honest I didn't even know there is a season for this game. Just thought it was one off and was wondering what's that points thing lol.

But in general, wouldn't change a lot. Had a plan and stick with it :)

It is a fun game though. Will play it in future for sure. Where is it usually located? In this same subforum, just for ongoing tournaments?

Check the tournament pages

There is obviously only one tournament per week. For instance for Halle/Queens we will vote where to play.

The ranking page is here - ST - Suicide Tennis Rankings 2021. The points are summed up the same way as on ATP ranking - sum of all slams and masters and best 6 500s and 250s. Plus WTF if you qualify

Good luck

Can someone explain to me if you can't pick a player you picked as BU as a winner in the next round? Is that the reason why you choose all outsiders as BU?

No. The back up pick can’t be used anymore only if it was activated (the match of the main pick was not played and the back up had to be used.)
But when the match of the main pick starts and there is an outcome of that match, the back up pick for that day can be reused as a main pick or as a back up in the next rounds.

Example from yesterdays matches:
PICK: Berrettini BU: Nadal ...... Roger withdrew so Berrettini is not a valid pick. For this day the back up (Nadal) is used and can’t be selected anymore in the next days. However, Berrettini can be selected since he was not used.

scenario 2: PICK: Djokovic, BU: Nadal
Djokovic’s match didn't finish but the match started and Djokovic won after Musetti retired. In this case the main pick is used, while the back up (Nadal) was not activated and therefore, nadal can be picked for the next rounds
