It will be awarded next month.

A certain tennis player is long overdue for this award, and his fourth astonishing year in a row has just ended.

But I see no mention of Roger Federer at all on the SI page at the moment!: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/magazine/specials/sportsman/2007.

My apologies to those who hate rehashing this discussion every year. But it is rather mindboggling to some of us...

Looking forwards to see what American is going to be deemed worthy of such an honnor, and to see the reactions of people who still actually believe Federer could have gotten it

Marion Jones or Barry Bonds should get it.

It should be renamed American Sportsman of the Year. Roger will take the Laureus - the most prestigious award in sports.

If he wins 3 more majors to pass Sampras in 2008, he might have a chance at this US award.

Oh gosh, it's that time of the year already.....when the Fedtards have their yearly whinge :awww: :baby:
No kidding. Just wait until the predictable American bashing comes in and then some idiot starts whining about how a American sports publication needs to put the words "American" in their title....

The winner will be someone from a mug American sport.

When will these idiots realise that not many cares for their shitty sports outside of their country such as Nascar, Baseball and NFL. All utterly useless sports.

Baseball is actually wildly popular in Japan, and a few other countries, actually a pretty cool sport.

Football, meh.

Nascar, not a sport.

Oh, the Yanks are sure good at eating. If there was a world championship for that, they would clean up.
Actually Takeru Kobyashi is the world competetive eating champ. American can't win that either.
