I think Kwon did great. i think he can make US Open and can finish the year inside the top 100. maybe even top 80 if lucky.

On another topic, I'm curious about the player Ji-sung Nam. It seems he can be quite a good player, at least on the challenger level. He spent 2016/17 doing military service so he has really not reached his potential yet I feel. He is still only 25 years old. I was surprised when he made the final in Gwangju last year because I had not heard about him much before. He went through in straight sets against players like Laaksonen, Bublik and Santillan, and lost a close final. This year, it's been difficult for him because of the change in the ranking system, he lost many points. But he reached the final in Columbus with some good results. I'm very curious to see how far he can go. It seems many of these Korean players have good potential, maybe one day they will do well in the team events.

Soonwoo Kwon defeated Pouille in Zhuhai in 7-6 6-2.
And also came back to defeat Gasquet in Antwerp.

Now playing in Challenger in Shenzhen as number 1 seed. Defeated fellow Korean, Duckhee Lee 6-2 6-2 in the 1st round. If Kwon wins the tournament, I think he will be up to a career-high ranking #75

Of course, as if I jinxed it, Kwon loses to Safwat 4-6 6-7, after being up 5-2 in the 2nd set. A bad loss but it's been a good year for Kwon. He will need to be more consistent if he's going to keep progressing in 2020.
