its really unfair for clay and grass court players even hard court specialists play most season outdoor hard courts why do the atp tour keep it on the same surface which only suits like 30% of players. even Nadal agrees with me saying more than once the atp finals should be played on different surfaces every season and makes more injury's happen, that do you guys think?.

It might be a better experiment if Roland Garros were played on different surfaces, no?

It would almost certainly give a much higher chance to win for many players, instead of having one player win 98% of the time.

But it doesn't have to be too much of a change, maybe just color?

Please call Ion for more info.

Problem is that it's the finale of the indoor season. Switching surfaces between Paris 1000 and WTF wouldn't be easy on the body and form.

Plus many places in November are too cold for outdoor events.
then just have Atp finals in Australia it would work really well, start of summer good times, also indoor has No season, its just masters cups and ranking points a season is something that ends with major AO RG WB USO. Nobody really would care if atp finals was outdoors honestly

IIRC in Shanghai and also previously in Houston it was played outdoors. So the argument that it's the culmination of the European indoor season doesn't hold water.

Damn, must sting that Nadal never won it. 😂
I'm shocked... absolutely shocked that this thread was originated by a Nadal fan.

It's amazing how so many of them repeatedly tell us this tournament means nothing yet they'd like to make inexplicable changes to it to suit a particular player that's never won it.

I'm sure it'll eventually come to me ;)

If it wasn't an important event then Nadal wouldn't have choked. He knew how much was on the line for him to finally win this prestigious title, and Nadal fans do too.

I don't know about you but I was certain he was going to take care of Thiem in the final had he served it out.I just didn't see him losing to Dom again in consecutive matches there and was going to take extra precautions in the final. Also Dom would've been a little fatigued to play Nadal in another long match considering his 3 hour epic with Nole.

Thank god Medvedev saved the sport with that service break... and eventual win ;)

I wouldn’t mind it being a rotating or even random surface, could be fun to see, but I also think it’s okay the way it is. Timing of the event means more likely than not it has to be indoors, unless they changed location every year, which is logistically a nightmare
