Inevitable slump for the fast rising superstar. Federer had the same slumps at this stage of his career.

Tsitsipas' return is just not good enough. Out of all the youngsters only De Minaur stands outs with excellent RoS (actually, not only among youngsters, most top tenners would've killed for his RoS right now). The rest are pretty tragic overall. PHH's first serve was deal breaker.

Is it customary now for young players to dissapear for the rest of the year after a deep run?

Another example is Andrey Rublev. The fuck happened to this guy?

I am not even surprised anymore. Tsitsipas should hit the practise court and work on his serve/ROS and FH, he'll have to get an awful amount of hours get in to achieve any showable results, it feels now.

I'm so tired of everyone comparing Federer's early age underperformance and using that to excuse the youngsters of today.

Tsitsipas needs to get it together. These are some bad losses for someone who is in the top 15. There's no excuse. He made one good run at an M1000, not a slam...there shouldn't be a slump.

Rublev’s momentum was derailed by his back injury, 3 months off is enough to ruin a season. If he doesn’t bounce back next year, then we should be concerned.

I think in his case it's a bit more than that. He isn't that well balanced as a player. His forehand is undoubtedly amazing, the rest - not nearly that polished. His serve is iffy, the bh is average. He can be solid from the baseline, but his mental game is not strong enough to support a truly grinding playing style.
However, at his young age so much room for improvement is a good thing. Just needs to find the right people to help him down the road.

Before Tsitsi is condemned into the land of Kyrgios, it's probably worth pointing out that quicker courts aren't that good for him at present, while his last two opponents really like them.

Only just turned 20, and he's ranked in the top 15. A year ago he was 117th.
