I only saw the last game and it was intense. Wanted Bublik to win but this Vacherot guy ranked out of 200 I never seen before was impressive. Loved his roar. However the Chinese fans after the match were absolutely ridiculous. Pushing each other, screaming to get a towel or a shirt or something with their ridiculous whiny voice and having no manners whatsoever. Not surprised though.

Yes, I only tuned in at the end but that was an epic last game with Vacherot serving for the match. It lasted about 10 minutes, Bublik saving 4 MPs, mostly with some very good play, the Chinese fans cheering him on. Vacherot's 1st serve, which had been largely unreturnable over the course of the match, fell off. Bublik ended up with a BP at one point and I thought Vacherot might crumble, but credit to him for staying in there. I loved the roar he let out at the end as well.

It's the biggest win of Vacherot's career and only his 3rd win at Masters 1000 level, all 3 wins coming this year (a win over Struff at Monte Carlo and over Djere in R1 here in Shanghai). He is Rinderknech's cousin, for anyone who doesn't know.

 

NOOO...he needs points to have a slim chance if qualifying for the ATP Final — only has 840 in the big tournaments this seaon interestingly, with even Cam Norrie (Live #33) currently having more big tournament points in the breakdown than Bublik.
