Re: Shanghai Entry List/Fact Sheet (updated September 30, 2011)

I hope Donald doesn't have to play the Qualies here. F in Bangkok, 4th Rd. US Open, SF Washington in 2 months should be enough

Giraldo, Dimitrov, Kubot are all in the MD, and Tomic is the next one to enter automatically, so the list will likely go down to at least Yani and maybe even more.

I'm happy, since now the draw is weak, my favorites can all win matches and potentially qualify, as long as they don't draw each other. But too bad Rainer is out again, this would be a perfect opportunity for him.

DY is going to have to qualify, he's not high enough on the entry list to get in on his ranking.

Which after the way he was handled by Murray, not a terrible idea. He should be able to run through the qualies and gain some more match practice, reinforce recently gained confidence, and gain more ranking points than if he just got in the draw.

I predict a 25 from qualies + a R16 appearance so he gets to the 30's.

There are guys here that can beat Don, winning in qualifying against lower ranked, motivated players on outside courts is much different than winning on the center court of an ATP event with the spotlight on.

Totally agree. There are several guys who have beaten DY in the past and will feel very confident against him. For example, Matosevic will probably be in the Q draw. Harrison too.

Re: Qualifying Entry List (updated October 5, 2011)

Donald is now the highest ranked player in the qualifying draw. Don't know if that means he's one withdrawal away from the main draw or if he can get a WC. If the latter I hope he doesn't get a WC as there's easy 35 to get for winning 2 qualie matches now

Donald Young will not get into the main draw without playing quallies. These lists came out weeks ago. It doesnt matter what his ranking is now.

If that's the case then time for Donald to continue this stretch of good tennis and get 25 for making the main draw. Unlike the last Masters quali he had to play after a good tourney run there won't be a higher ranked player to stand in the way

Re: Qualifying Entry List (updated October 6, 2011)

Simone and Gaba are actually going to be seeded now with all these withdrawals, so I'm very happy about that. Hopefully Florent isn't drawn in the section of either and hopefully none of the three are in Rendy Lu's section. All four of them qualifying would be amazing.

Picasso is definitely the best player in the qualifying draw, and Cipolla is in very good form, so everyone is going to want to avoid playing those two men.

Re: Qualifying Draw

it's sad Chiudinelli didnt get in, he only needed one more withdrawal and showed a good form lately. he could've qualified :(
