which seeds do you think could lose in round 1?. for me:

Taylor Fritz - its a surprise to me that he's seeded inside the top 20 yet alone seeded at all. Koepfer had a good run here a couple years ago and can definitely take down Fritz if he's playing well

David Goffin - he's playing poorly, like he has been for basically the last year and a half with a few spurts of strong play. and opelka is playing well. if opelka is healthy he should take down david here

Alexander Zverev - still has the double fault isues and anderson is dangerous

Casper Ruud - on a hard court he's incredibly vulnerable.

Benoit Paire - you never know what you'll get with Benoit and he has a dangerous opponent

Grigor Dimitrov - very dangerous opener for grigor. given the form of both paul might be the slight favorite

Nikoloz Basilashvili - who knows how focused he is on tennis right now .

Karen Khachanov - possibly got the most dangerous unseeded opponent in round 1. purely unlucky for karen

Marin Cilic - he's been awful for over a year now and Kudla has had some good wins before

Has a seed ever been a 3.6 underdog in the 1R without injury being involved on either side?

Looking at Basilashvili against Millman here.

Even a dangerously fallen off Sock didnt have those odds, although he might have had he played Millman.

Hurkacz, Mannarino, Goffin, Zverev, Ruud, Basilashvili, and Thiem if he plays as he did in Cincinnati. Maybe Khachanov as well.

US Open update: OUT: Paire IN: Granollers (ALT, will play against Majchrzak)

fyi they're using doubles guys as alts once draw was made

if paire dropped out before draw opelka would have been a seed which hurts goffin who drew opelka

eh..to be perfectly honest david is looking so mediocre that i would have had him as a danger of getting upset first round regardless of who he played

Zverev is 5-0 against Anderson, who was apparently even more awful in WSO.
Anderson had a good win against Edmund but played like dildo against Tsitsipas. Still tho, Zverev is nowhere near Tsitsipas’s level right now and it could be the same thing as how Murray squeaked by him then got clapped by Raonic afterwards.

Lajovic getting roasted. Could have seen Gerasimov take that one

USO only or other tournaments as well? Lajovic was a 3,75 shot last year against Hurkacz @ Wimbledon. RG has surely had a few, Johnson as a seed against Verdasco and Pospisil against Gabashvili.

True, but its funny none the less to see it without really any surface implications at play.
