third challenger title of the year for damir. he's up to 105 in the rankings come monday. its the second time this season he's been on the cusp of the top 100. hopefully he'll actually get in there this time.

That means he'll be a direct entry into the US Open. The accordions in New York will be a sight to behold.

Great result, makes up for Bosnia getting utterly robbed by evil officials at the World Cup.
Don't see how not being able to score vs Nigeria equals to being robbed by officials.

Dzhumur played very well this week. His serve is still a liability but his ability to make the transition from defense to attack in a point gives him a great advantage in the CH tour where players don't have deadly weapons so he's solid enough to win at this level but he won't be able to make big runs in ATP tournaments because of the serve. He's also a player who needs to be 90%+ focused to win a match otherwise he can lose to anyone and that's again because of his weak serve.

They scored an early goal it's not their fault that the ref cancelled it.

Solid week for Damir, no doubt.

He almost wasn't challenged in the semis and the final. He could make the US Open main draw direct now, that would give him 3 out 4 GS main draw for the year, not a bad achievement for, i would dare say, still a young player. He seems to be also phisically coming into his own and is improving his game continously. Still, he loses some matches here and there that he perhaps should not but thats tennis. He is however gaining valuable experience now and will be a tough player to beat on the challenger tour in the coming months. As for ATP matches, we will wait and see, but he has the overall game to be able to challenge some players on the ATP tour, maybe just not yet. I'd like him to prove me wrong however.

If Josh Milton can turn his serve from powderpuff WTA level to merely competent over a season then Džumi has something to work with, if he's prepared to put the work in.
