MOSCOW (AP) - On the eve of his Russia-Argentina semifinals match in the Davis Cup, Marat Safin's BMW truck was stolen, Moscow police said Friday.

The four-wheel-drive truck is valued between $100,000 and $150,000 Cdn, a police spokesman said.

The theft, which Safin reported Thursday night, did not affect Safin's game. The Russian star beat Argentina's Juan Ignacio Chela 6-7 (1), 7-5, 7-5, 6-1 in Davis Cup play Friday.

Safin's was one of 25 cars reported stolen Thursday. Police gave no unusual motive for the theft.

Hi the cat! I read it on another board. It was by a russian fan whose father just came back from Moscow and brought some newspapers with him. It said the thieves promised to return Marats car back but only if he wins the tie! And its no joke!
