Actually, all jokes a side, they are a very good team when they play together. As far as Davis Cup is concerned they couldn't be stopped last year although I would still make this the hardest of the five rubbers for Russia to win in this year's final.
I would like to think it will help Safin's singles game but truth is his poor movement and inconsistency off his FH wing are well disguised in doubles matches. He might try to become a better volleyer but he's the first to admit he'll never become consistent enough to attack the net regularly in singles.
