It's was all about Gulbis making error after error.

16 winners total from Marat and I can't remember a single one in the third set

Ehh, shame... Ernests could have put a better performance at least. 1st set was nothing, but tragic, 2nd set was poor, 3rd was somewhat ok. Overall too much ball-bashing, time to grow up a bit.

It also seemed to me that Marat was reading Ernests' serve very well.

The crowd was ridiculous, so much screaming even during rallies. It sounded as if 90% of the crowd were underaged teeny-girls.

Way to go, Safin! I almost fell out of my chair at work when I checked the livescores and saw he'd bagelled Gulbis in record time in the first set. :lol: Third set was typical Safin: he wasn't comfortable being 2 sets and a break up, so he had to make it more interesting with the tie-break Good to see a positive start from him, in straight sets no less, and hope he keeps up the momentum.
