FAA actually didnt quite have the ground game Sinner had yesterday, but he had the serve.

His attack is still not quite as consistently precise as Sinner's. He overhit a few times. Probably if he had played Carreno yesterday and Sinner him today, FAA and Sinner's spots would be reversed.

None the less, great job by FAA.

He started the match with 4 straight love holds, 15/16 first serves, and won all but one of first serve points in the 2nd set, although a few at the end were down to PCB.

Enjoyable match, could have easily gone the other way, but PCB lost virtually every important point.

Felix was brave on big points, loved his aggression.

He's looked so fresh and powerful this week, a complete contrast to the latter end of last year. I read that he skipped events near the end of 2019 just so he could do some solid blocks of training. Looks like that's paid off, especially in the serving.

Hope he bags his first tour title tomorrow.

Please, stop making this out to be another "mental" loss. PCB was a point from going down a double break in the 2nd multiple times, and made absolutely no inroads on the FAA serve the first set until the last game.

He was 0/4 on BPs, and had 2 to serve for the first set. FAA had BPs in 2 games, PCB had them in 3.

Agree. Yesterday's match took a lot out of Pablo, it was clear he wouldn't have much of a shot today unless Felix played a poor match.

He didn't even get a chance in either BP to serve for the first. I wouldn't say this could have gone the other way after how demonstrative the TB was and for how early FAA led in the 2nd.

Wow. Looking like FAA might finally be back on the right track. Perhaps his "sophmore slump" is over and start his ascent into the top 10. Hoping he takes the title tomorrow.

Wow! I didn't expect this, Felix looked sick yesterday, he was still coughing a bit today, but his game really came togther today--particularly the serve and FH--and PCB didn't have as much left in the tank after Sinner (I think it's a factor, but that's tennis)

So so pleased!

Also, commie mentioned something useful to know for once: Felix had changed racquets (I didn't know this) but went back to his old one recently, and the improvement is striking. He was in a real slump for a bit, now it appears to be over.

Now get the title.

Felix has came out victorious from some tight sets and matches lately, has to feel good for him. His mentality has previously let him down on several occasions. Kid needs to keep building that confidence and he might do great things.
