Kukushkin was solid as a rock and just wouldn't miss. Haase not even bad, especially in 2nd set. I had a feeling if it went to 3rd Haase's chances would go up but Mikhail slammed that door in the tie-break. :armed:

Watched the match (TT diff :) ).

Haase was very nervous at the start and he couldn't even toss up the ball straight in the first couple of service games. Kuku very solid and didn't give anything to Robin in the first set. It was a straight forward affair.

Second set, suddenly Robin is different player. Started to win his service games easily and put pressure on Kuku. had BP in the 6th game after Mikhail committed 2 UEs in a row, but couldn't convert.
In 11th game Haase was down 0-40 and saved total of 5 BPs with some clutch serving and serve and volleying (one-two shots ). When everyone thought Kuku will get nervous and drop the set, Robin started to clown one more time and went down 1-5 in the TB. Kuku was solid an closed the match.

Haase started off very flat, Kukushkin played very well though. Set 2 he started to serve much better, had a breakpoint after a really good point, but Kukushkin saved it after a 43-shot rally. At 5-5 Haase saved 5 breakpoints and in the final tiebreak he had just too many errors, especially the missed smash was a pity. Kukushkin deserved winner, his point construction is really good.
