Very tough match. Lodra just a bit better than Haase (a bit of lack of experience I think), but well deserved victory to him.

Congrats to Lodra for the victory and to Robin for an awesome tournament run! :worship:

Llodra who used to be a regular tie-break choker, turns into a tie-break specialist in 2008. His record this year is 10-4. Not only a very good percentage but also he's the only player who has won at least 10 tie-breaks this year.

Nice match :yeah: and great revenge for an unbelievable loss to Haase in Washington '07.

Nice match, but it's a pity Robin could not make the big points. Llodra served just to well on those big points to get something there.
I guess that's the difference between a relative youngster/newcomer on this level and an experienced player - getting the Big Points made.
Robin will surely improve on this matter in the future. He commented about this after the match and indeed blamed it on his 'lack of experience'.

Well done Mika!
He's definitely gonna improve his best ranking this year, breaking in the top30 is likely!
Good luck tomorrow against Karlovic

So, what you'll say about their last year match in Washington where Llodra wasted 5 match points against Haase on serve, including triple MP? :aplot:

 - "Freaky Loss", "Choker", yada yada yada.
Nah, I think this match was pretty different, as this was at least a tight match. Apart from that, Haase has the guts (and the Big Mouth, btw ;)) to come back from a losing position. Ah, we'll see how he'll develop in the near future.

Mika didn't reach any ATP semi-finals in 2006 or 2007, but he has already reached 2 (going the full distance at Adelaide) in the early stages of this season. He must delighted with the year he has had so far.

Llodra's serve is just amazing, his second serve was sensational at times.
in general it's solid but nothing to write home about
