Re: Rotterdam Entry List (updated January 3, 2012)

Don't really like it, used to be better. More top 4 and higher cut-off. Now you have guys like Kubot, Rosol and Kunitsyn directly entering.
But it is such a bad week schedule-wise, that it's still a decent list.

Tell us Kubot why do you do this??? Wouldn't it be better at Brasil Open?

Good luck to Marcel :cheerleader: and Łukasz :cheerleader:

Anyway it is really not as strong as usual indeed. I remember last year Marcel was in top 50 and he was the first one on the alt list.

Great to see that Dolgopolov will play here too. I really like his style, and I am looking forward to have a chat with his coach again. :) List always seems a bit the same, though I won't complain. :) Cool to see Roger too here in Holland, I am very curious how many of his fans come to this tournament.

Roger must really be pushing for #1... given this, I expect him to keep trying to rack up the points in some smaller events to close the gap

It's a smart move from Federer, he is too good on indoor. He should win this tournament.
But will he play Davis Cup too in previous weekend??

I hope Delpo will win the tournament :worship: Can't wait to finally see him here :D

I would be surprised if Mr Vavrinec really played there. A last moment pull out is predictable !!!!

I don't think it's for #1. Federer is very far off from that. I just think he realized that he'd be the favorite here and it's a good way to get some points and win a title without tremendous trouble. I think he's realized that, barring injury to Nadal and Djokovic, the #1 ship has sailed.

yes yes, his commitment to Rotterdam had been announced a long time ago, before the streak in the end of the year, it's not a matter of number 1.

Only Krajicek asked for him for a long time, and he has good memories from this tournament in his early years.

I also think he had decided to change his schedule to play here rather than in Dubai because Dubai was not on his original schedule for 2012, only added a few weeks ago.

Maybe this change of schedule was also related with playing Davis cup the week before.

As for now, a pull-out of "Mr Vavrinec" is possible, considering his back problems coming back.

As for the rest of the list, I don't think it's that poor but of course Nadal plans to skip february, Djokovic hasn't played in Rotterdam for a while and prefers to come back in Dubai, Murray well Murray he was so bad last year here, Tsonga he plays Davis Cup in western Canada the week before ...

For the rest of the players, I don't think it's poorer than before. Simon, Gulbis, Cilic, Dimitrov and Melzer are missing but Del Potro and Dolgopolov coming I think is interesting.

Re: Rotterdam Entry List (updated January 3, 2012)

What happens now? Will Krajicek try to get another big name to Rotterdam? He still has that extra wildcard, if I remember correctly. I wonder if someone special comes (hopefully Ferrer) or that it will just be the next on the list.

I have tickets for the final, would love to see Roger play in it, but I have a feeling it will be 50/50 whether he ends up playing the tournament due to the timing / how he fares after AO -- we shall see!
I think it would also be nice to see Delpo again or Dolgopolov for the first time.
