He kinda peaked at that time. He's not improved ever since.a bit like Bourgue at the start of season
he won 6 Futures in a row
Both OP weere late to the party http://www.menstennisforums.com/showthread.php?t=562722Bit late to the game...already a thread in GM for this kid, believe it or not: http://www.menstennisforums.com/showthread.php?t=563153
Like I said there, cautiously optimistic, as I always am with young players. Would love to see him succeed, but since I've never had the chance to see him play, no opinion on his game at the moment.
Valid point. These results certainly have been impressive for a 17-year-old, but at the same time he hasn't beaten a lot of strong players. Beating Basic and Molchanov is not enough to conclude that he has Top 20 potential or is a wonder kid.
But the consistency he shows is impressive for a 17-year-old. I cant remember the last time when such a young player did this kind of streak. Lets see what he can do on challengers next yearThese results certainly have been impressive for a 17-year-old, but at the same time he hasn't beaten a lot of strong players. Beating Basic and Molchanov is not enough to conclude that he has Top 20 potential or is a wonder kid.
I think he still has his head screwed on, we will see how he goes this year, Kafelnikov is big on him. He ended the year strong with a Futures title and will be playing in a Dallas Challenger today.this kid rublev seemed to have bigger potential and already (how old is he? 16?) is tweeting pics of himself with older british trailer trashes and alcohol.
This lad got it completely in reverse order LOLIn my opinion
1) Safiullin
2) Khachanov
3) Rublev
What happened? Not a wonder kid anymore, but a proud #2 of Team Russia at the 2022 ATP Cup.
KING ASLAN and Donskoy have been detained by the New South Wales authoritiesWhat happened?
Also interesting to note how many of those players in those futures never made it even to be regular challenger players. I wonder how many players from each futures event on average make it into challengers/atp tours
