You must spread your reputation etc etc...

Thanks a lot for your contributions SKozak. Hopefully a chilean can finally qualify to a GS again.

Re: Wild Cards

Yeah no hope for Chung (or Millman) I fear, but Chung at least should have no problem qualifying. Time for him to test himself at tour level matches though, and start winding back on challengers.

The only problem is that he isn't in the qualifying entry list.

Re: Roland Garros Entry List (updated May 1, 2015)

Chung is now 68 in the world and will not make it here because he didn't enter qualifying...

2 top 100 players, Chung and Zverev(will be 100 after Heilbronn) both miss out b/c they didn't want to go through qualifying

Re: Qualifying Entry List (updated April 29, 2015)

?Zverev is on the qualies list though - unless he has withdrawn?
Oops... For some reason I thought he wasn't. Still, he won't get WC, and quailes can be very unpredictable.
I still don't understand why Chung is on alternates list, but isn't doing qualification though... He might be trying to stay under the radar a bit

Re: Qualifying Entry List (updated April 29, 2015)

Over the year, Chung has only achieved his high ranking on the challenger circuit, and on mostly home soil.

Playing RG would test him physically over 5 sets for first time, and he would have to get a good draw to make 2nd Round. That gives him less points than a challenger would, so basically not helping at all. He might get a lot of money ( compared to his earnings so far), but when you are top 75 at 18, that is not so important.

I agree that he would certainly be tested at this level, and you could be right that this is the reason for not entering. Seems a bit shortsighted though if so.

He has now won a few tour level matches (Miami and Houston) plus US challenger (Savannah).

Now that he is top 100 he's going to have to dip his toe into the water more seriously at some point pretty soon....
