He was tied with Nadal before today (9 RG finals for the Spaniard), but after beating Murray he became the first player to reach 10 finals at the same Slam tournament (7-2 record thus far).

Another great record for Federer :yeah:

Probably an untouchable record, not as good as Nadal's of course

Nadal's 9 RG trophies is still the greatest single slam record, but this is the second best especially if it becomes 8 out of 10, with the two losses being 5-setters.

Simply amazing. Fed keeps adding records into "it will take a long time before someone breaks it" territory.
Actually it's quite possible this one will take less than a year, since Nadal is on 9 finals at RG...

In fact this is one of federer's easiest record to match, the dirballer just need Novak out of his side of the draw in any of the futures RG.

Rafa needs just 1 more RG final to make it 10. Untouchable?

Does old man have 10 out of 10 final record, now that Rafa has 9 out of 9 perfect finals record at a slam?

Well yeah obviously Nadal is the only one close to that, sorry. Though it feels like if he won't do it in 2016, he won't do it anymore

Do you really think Rafa can win another RG?

Great record. hadn't even expected this one. I'm thrilled he's got another grass final.

... And how will that be 'less than a year' if Nadal does in fact make the French Open final next year... It will mean it will be 'equalled' not 'broken'

For Fed's mark to eclipsed it's now going to be a minimum of 2 years with Nadal having to make the finals at Roland Garros in 2016 and 2017.
