So said Roddick of his hard court run in 2003. A crazy hot streak? Or playing up to his level thanks to a great coach, Brad Gilbert?

Both. It's exactly the same as Federer winning three out of four Slams last year; something he was capable of with his game, but an exceptional achievement he's probably not going to repeat again.

In my opinion it was a crazy hot streak that was going to happen regardless of coaching.

Roddick was kinda one-dimensional that time, but boy, it was a fantastic dimension and not many knew yet how to deal with it.

Roddick played great all summer 2003. Still I have to wonder where he might be were Brad Gilbert still guiding his career.

crazy hot streak...got left off the hook a couple of times..Nalbandian really should have beaten him at the Open. and he clearly was showing the weakness in Andy´s game: bring back the serve and you´re gonna be fine.
