Chardy was not playing that great today, he played much better against Goffin and Isner, Court 1 is quicker and suit his game more than Suzan Lenglen.300% Chardy is enough to take down washed up old men but not a 70% Clayray.
Should have been straight sets if not for some mug play on break points.
I thought it was 14-0? Maybe Clayray's dominance is too much and I'm losing count.Chardy. Great display of tennis in the second set. :worship: Murray played well in parts. Well done Andy. The first real test awaits you on Wednesday.
P.S.: As for ClayRay what can be said..... 13-0
Mate, did you see how Chardy was playing?! It'd be pretty shocking if he hadn't hit his share of DFs and unforced errors. It was only in the last set that the UEs really started to flow; it was startling how much he was getting away with prior to that, with about as reckless an approach as you can get.solid enough to come through thanks in no small part to Chardys DFs and UEs
Tactical. He didn't want Chardy to be able to take a big swing at his second. The problem was, he still didn't get the first serve in often enough.Serious reality check for the Clayray bandwagon, Murray was rolling his 1st serve in  solid enough to come through thanks in no small part to Chardys DFs and UEs
Thought he might get to SF but not at this rate![]()
What, by making yet another slam 1/4 final? how does that work? it's alo his 17th straight slam 1/4 final. Slams are different to masters, it's all about pacing yourself for 2 weeks and peaking for the latter stages. I don't know any player who plays lights out for 7 straight matches.Undoing all his good work from Munich and Madrid.
True chardy was going guns blazing, but he missed some absolute sitters at the net, On the positive side murrays aggressive second serve returns made chardy go big and DF but he won't get that against Ferrer.Mate, did you see how Chardy was playing?! Just saying, any suggestion that Murray was somehow fortunate to come through as a result of Chardy's errors is grade A bollocks.
Undoing all of his good work by continuing to win and making the quarter-finals. Makes perfect sense.Undoing all his good work from Munich and Madrid.
Yes in hindsight he probably did this because he was winning most of the long rallies and Chardy was trying to end points quickly. But this tactic certainly made him work hard to hold serveTactical.
