Massive level from Djokovic here. Khachanov was basically peaking in set 1 but he isn't beating this DJ. Level of Khachanov dropped after the first set and there were some ups and downs from Djokovic concentration-wise, but overall he was hitting the ball absolutely flawlessly.

This is exactly what Novak needed – a big test against a powerful giant in great form. Khachanov was playing amazing tennis and the conditions really suited him, but Novak is from another planet. It wouldn’t have been the best thing had Novak not been tested prior to the later rounds. He got a big test today. And he only needed 2 hours and 23 minutes to win.

Also, Tennis Channel showed that Novak was hitting his forehand and backhand much harder than Khachanov was. Novak is hitting with power, depth and accuracy. He hit 44 winners and only made 28 errors. This is Novak at his absolute peak.

4 down, 3 to go.

Nothing is stopping this train... Idemo!

Khachanov wasn't even playing bad, it's just that Djokovic looks unstoppable in 2020*

Blasting FH and BH winners, sometimes a killer dropshot in the mix and a serve that's giving him much more free points. His returns are legendary, his mental strength is epic. Another QF on the road to greatness!

Pretty good stuff but a fair bit of clownery as well. I doubt this Djokovic would take peak Nadal to a tiebreak like in 2008, duh. Of course, he likely didn't feel like giving his damnedest against hahahahachanov and didn't need that indeed.

Tough match, as was expected. No1e giving away leads against a very resilient Khachanov, but keeping the damage limited in straight sets.

Good for No1e to have a good test in between. Some beautiful returns in the last game!

Next match should be less tough.
Vamos!

As I expected, first opponent who was some test. Good that Novak won it in 3 sets. Overall solid performance but some clowning as well by dropshotovic. I'm starting to feel that Djokodal blockbuster is on the cards.

"Peak" Noel struggled with kakha in 2/3 sets.

Eh. Solid enough from Djokovic but the Pelican really had his chances to put some pressure on Novak here. Just faltered on many of those break points.

Novak sleepwalking to the semi and probably final, not really a surprise.

Good stuff. Glad he had a real opponent, time to shift gears. Apart from some clownery and experimentation, really satisfied. Deep and accurate striking from all positions.
