That scoreline!

(And no, before anybody asks, Bolelli wasn't injured.)

Cilic up next for Ferrer.

Fitness outlasts talent, like most of the time on the tour.

That being said, if Cilic maintains his level of the first 3 rounds, he'll end David's tournament on Monday.

What on earth happened here? Bolleli has such a strong and exciting game, but he can never seem to get it together and push up the rankings.

Fully expected Bolelli to trouble him but what the hell was going on in the last two sets?

Ferrer was terrible for the first two sets and will need to step up his level. Hopefully he'll play better in the next round - he'll need to.

Bolelli though played some excellent tennis, especially in set 2, painting the lines. But as so often is the case with him against top players, he couldn't keep it up.

Bolelli didn't seem tired to me in the last two sets? Ferrer stepped up his level (stopping hitting his shots so short) while Bolelli seemed to falter under the pressure of being in the lead.

Good to see Ferrer being tested early. That should help him mentally when he plays Cilic or Murray.

you're crazy if you think Marin has the legs to beat Ferrer, regardless of if he Cilic is in good form or not. its clay. not going to happen

Bolelli can totally go away mentally and I suppose that's what happened here. Was the same against Fed at the AO after the 1. set.

Shocked that Bolleli was up 2-1 but I kinda predicted (kinda like the Mahut match) it isn't over until it's over...and it seems Bolleli doesn't have the experience yet to believe he could win in a 5-Setter against a top player, especially on their best surface, which begs the question how did Ferrer get to this point in the first place.

Most of the time Ferrer's 'level' was completely irrelevant.
Last two sets Simone was hitting shots in every direction but the court, David just had to keep it in play to win every game.
And it's not like he was playing awful at the beginning, Simone was just a bit better.
