Clayray appeared from time to time, but unfortunately disappeared in the middle of the 3rd set.

But still a good win for him over Ferrer, his first on clay. No losses since his marriage, Djokovic up next. Pray for wind.

He should have finished it in three, but nevermind. Andy played pretty well today, another Roland Garros SF for him, and even though it's Nole he's playing next... who knows?

More talented player won

Ferrer`s service :help:
Gotta give Ferrer credit though. At 33 and only 5 9". (SHORT NOWADAYS IN TENNIS) He fights for every point.

Good performance from Andy except after going up breaks multiple times in the first set and again in the third. He was the much better player throughout, just a few donated service games stopped this from being complete rout. Good fight from David, but Andy really had a read on his serve.

Andy's interview with Fabrice, hiring Amelie as coach- what else does he have to do to get the Frenchies on his side?
Hopefully they hate Djoker a little bit more next match.

Murray should really have won in straight sets, but excellent result for him and he has a shot against Djokovic in this form.

Andy defends his points from last year; anything against Djokovic next round is a plus. Good match overall, though it should have ended much sooner but Giftray showed up in the third set and awarded David a set. Still, excellent form throughout despite a few bad patches. He definitely has his chances against Djokovic.

Aside from that third set fuck-up (it's normal I guess for Andy to go walkabout) he played exceptional clay court tennis, defended his points and will have a crack at Novak. Ferrer fought his terrier-like self off and Andy took his game to heights David can't in that 4th set.

I expect that he'll lose in 4, but give it absolutely all you've got out there Andrew. No stone unturned.

only Murray, Djokovic, Nadal, Agassi, Federer and Lendl have made the semis for better of all the slams 3 times plus

Murray/Ferrer matches always give me a headache due to the drama (and sometimes the tennis), but it was enjoyable in parts. First set was ridiculous in how badly both players played behind the serve - but at the same time, some great returning on both sides. Third set was a ridiculous collapse from Andy. Loved his work in 2 & 4 though. Good temperament to recover in the fourth.

Excellent win and regardless of the SF, which will be extremely difficult to win, what a fantastic clay season.

Respect to David as always. First set was a funny one: Murray wasted breaks again and again, and Ferrer ended up in a position where he probably should've won it, but didn't. Again though, you always feel David will get tight in such situations.
