Squealer, the information broker for the pigs, rationalizes to the rest of the animal population why the pigs need the apples and milk for themselves-they are considered the smartest among the animals and they needed them to boost their productivity. This particular quote began the propaganda that the pigs would spread to the other animals in their "society."
