I was really bored and while looking for Hewitt's ranking back in 1998 I stumbled on Juan Carlos :) Here is what I got for his rankings in 1998.

February 2, 1998
Rank: 676

July 20, 1998
Rank: 458

October 19, 1998
Rank: 334

Year End
Rank: 346

I can do it for other years too if you want? As you see Ferrero did pretty well even though it was his first year pro :D

I didnt see Hewitt at all, I didn't come till Tuesday :(

Ferrero didn't become a full time pro untill 1999 though.

So his first year on tour he actually ended at 43 if I'm not mistaken. The atp site actually says number 44, so whatever ;)

His jump from the end of 1998 to the end of 1999 was quite fabulous

mid 300's to top 50.

he was still 19 then too.
