Rafael Nadal had to dig deep to beat Novak Djokovic in the final of the Rome Masters and claim his first title of the season, winning 6-0 4-6 6-1 after more than two hours of intense battle.

Novak won a set and seven games against Nadal on clay even though he was like a walkover that day. It just goes to show Novak is the favorite once RG begins.
Nonsense
Playing at PC is a different game, Thiem and Novak have beat Rafa in Rome (2017,2014) and still lost to Rafa in convening way
In the RG 60-70 % Rafa will be more than enough to beat Novak, the only chance of Novak to beat Rafa is if Thiem will be in Rafa SF and they will play 5-6 hours match

Not really. Novak should have won a few times at RG. Anyway, the past is irrelevant and all that matters is right now. Novak is way better than Nadal everywhere, and Nadal is never going to beat Novak in an important match again.

Plus the last time they met at RG, Nadal only won 9 games, and the gap between Novak and Nadal is bigger now, especially mentally.

Thats pretty funny - Nadal winning only 9 games in their last RG meeting and Djokovic winning only 13 games in their last USO meeting.

Then again Nadal has won more USO titles than Djokovic so maybe there is nothing funny about it after all.

Tbh, it doesn't matter. Nadal hasn't taken a set against Novak on a HC since that match, and has only broken Novak's serve twice over their past nine matches on a HC. There can only be one winner on a HC, while on clay there can be two, and I'd favor Novak over Nadal on clay atm.

As said, Novak was a walkover last year and he still took Nadal to 3 sets. An in-form Novak would've won that match.

You just dosent understand tennis.
Rafa was the better player at RG 12,13,14 and he won because he was better than Novak.
Novak right now has heavy edge on Rafa on HC (expect USO, that will be interesting match up) but on clay and especially on PC, Rafa is the huge favorite
