He is the most popular athlete in Spain and one of the popular athletes in the world. Don't you think public would like to know how he is doing health-wise, how his foot is doing after the RFA treatment he had undergone recently, and his plans to play Wimbledon or not?

When the public are interested about him, he also gives business to newspapers and internet media. He is a public figure. He sells news and newspapers.
Hate to break it to u but we’re in Grass season now & most tennis purists don’t think much about a player who hasn’t made a WB final in over a decade.

Even Raonic & Cilic made WB finals more recently.

It's because he's the GOAT and a living legend. At this point it could even be argued that he's bigger than tennis. (y)
Typical arrogant Dulltard.

See, if you guys were ATP players then Nadal would have already beaten you before you even stepped on the court because you are letting stuff like this rattle you. :wavey: You are not strong enough mentally to even handle a press conference or a few comments about an injury.
Lol, I still put up a better fight than fanboy Ruud. :wavey:

Why does he need to hold a press conference to announce his decision regarding his participation at Wimbledon? Can’t he just release a statement on Twitter?
He’s hoping people actually care. He’s such a piss poor grass player, no one actually cares, But he’s gotta tell the world that he is injured it might raise a few eyebrows if he won 3 slams in a row at age 35? With a foot Issue?

Integrity beyond belief.

Its super weird for me if he will do PR just to announce that he playing WB this year
Im sure there is something extra.
Maybe it's also to address the rumors about the pregnancy? Maybe he will also explain the latest treatment he has had and also shut down the two idiotic cyclists who made headlines by mentioning Rafa and doping in the same sentence? It doesn't have to be negative such as not playing Wimbledon or retirement.

“He was seen training on grass in Mallorca on Thursday, 11 days before the first day’s play at SW19, to give fans hope that he is still on track to play the third grand slam tournament of the year, and has scheduled a press conference for Friday where he is expected to confirm his participation in Wimbledon.”

Why does he need to hold a press conference to announce his decision regarding his participation at Wimbledon? Can’t he just release a statement on Twitter?
