Solid by Grigor, apart from a number of DFs and one particularly poor rally at set point at 5-4 first set.

Bring on Mahut next (most probably).

Poor serving and movement from Grigor but he got it done.

He really needs to completely alter his movement for grass cuz you cannot be this aggressive when you move... he slipped 5-10 times.

Not a very good match but a win is a win. Grigor slipped a couple of times today, but it is his first match on grass for the year.

Good luck in the next round!

Ward played okay. Dimitrov below par but enough to win.

Boring match really.

Always the case when two guys with big serves face.

She could be dating Ward now.
Amazing. :haha:

Not a bad match from Grigor who was always able to raise his level when he needed to. First matches on grass are never easily, especially when you are up against a home player but he handled it well. There's definitely room for improvement but he got the win. :yeah:

Dimitrov has a tendency to slow starts, but Ward has no weapons to trouble him much.

Grigor in 2, something like 7-5, 6-2.
Missed the correct score by a game.

Typical match of Dimitrov on grass. Good serving, but with a tendency to broke himself during the match. A lot of falls and slips, some muggery on break points too, but in the end got in done. Keep winning! :yeah:

As for Ward, not sure why some people believe he's good on grass. He basically played clay style in a grass court today.

It's just because he had a good run here a couple of years ago, beating Wawrinka along the way and he's won a couple of matches at Wimbledon. He's British so you have to lower the bar a little. Winning a match at Wimbledon against some Spanish clay-court mug will guarantee you a lot of hype which is what happens to him every year.

i can see why she's been there...Pipa's been watching Grigor for some time now..

And what break up rumours? She even (kinda) addressed her gratitude to him at her tittle speech, she posted a FB pic with a huge roses bouquet from him (allegedly). Everything is fine betweeen them.

Hopefully Grigor could go on and win this tournament, all predispositions in place.
