 Chucho on his day can upset anyone, he plays so beautiful and lets not forget he took Roger to 4 sets in their only meeting, before he had to retire with an injury

Hey look, universe man - Acasuso, Gaudio and Puerta have all managed to have a significant result on something other than "the red crap". Astonishing, isn't it?

I think, want and hope Roger in straights, but we're in for a very interesting match if both play to their potential. Acasuso's backhand is awesome! And Roger's Roger.

I just saw the Acasuso - Horna match and Acasuso did not play bad. Roger better be ready for that high caliber backhand down-the-line shot. It gave him a lot of trouble at the AO against Safin. In the last few games Acasuso's 1st serve was also holding up nicely.

I see one tie-break and one break in Roger's favor.

i hope federer beats his ass....just because of the smack down he put on roddick at the french.
By "beats his ass" I suppose you mean bagel him.

Unless Acasuso plays really badly, Fed will not bagel him. He doesn't try to go for a win in each game anymore (atleast that is how it seems to me). He tries to just keep enough of the pressure to win the set and the match.

The cincy draw had a quarter full of claycourt specialists. Someone had to come out. It's not like they are causing upsets and beating hardcourt players.

The BH DTL always gives Federer problems. One of the reasons that JCF, Andre, and Nalbandian had success against him the past is that they can hit that shot as good as anyone. Federer tends to give up that shot--if you can hit it consistently, which most players cannot, you can really trouble him. I see Federer pulling it out in two tough sets.

Yeah, but I got to thinking that I have never seen Acasuso play the cross court backhand (something Safin can do) and I was very encouraged by Fed's successful forays into the net. He could easily cut off that shot by coming to the net if he wanted to since Acasuso will mostly play the same shot.

Yep, the main reason being that federer likes to cover his weaker backhand wing as much as he can, so he can hit his fh most of the time.

But I think its not a bad tactic because the Bh dtl is a low percentage play in comparison with other shots that one can hit. If you dont hit it properly, you open up the cross-court angle, and the net is also higher here.

Federer needs a forehand squash shot. That would really help him defend against bh dtl.

You have some awfully low expectations for players who are supposed to be top 10.
Don't you bitch about these players only doing well on clay? Two of them get a decent result on a non-clay surface and now they count as top 10 players in your eyes, you didn't rate them before, so don't use the low expectations to justify an above average result.

Federer in 2, but I want Acasuso to win.
