Putting everything into perspective Federer's 2017-2019 was a miracle as has Djokovic's 2023-2025 been.

Djokovic fans have loved to laugh at Federer, bringing up matches left and right where he lost , choked etc.

However he had amazing success despite his age. Federer during this time period was putting the "whippersnappers" to rest in two sets, having great matches against Rafa and had some amazing matches against the GOAT of tennis , Novak Djokovic. Who was a little bit his junior and peaking.

Djokovic come 2023 to present has been a miracle. He has been the aging legend, having to square off against Sinner and Alcaraz. However in most matches against the Next Gen, Gen Z , Gen Alpha whatever it wants to be called he is destroying people or at least winning in four solid sets.

Both for their age , have been GOATs. Playing at basically an A-, B+ level, but running into the GOATs of the time and age. Federer was still dispatching the young guns before getting injured and Djokovic has been basically dispatching the old guns and new guns , minus Alcaraz and Sinner.

As easy at is to laugh at some of the Federer losses in 2017-2019 , Djokovic has had to deal with the same .

It will be interesting to see if the cycle continues for Sinner and Alcaraz.

Will there be another GOAT on their way who stops them in the biggest moments?

Yet another 'age' thread to hype up Fed's achievements. I wonder why Nadal's 2022 season until his Wimbledon injury was left out. Oh: I get it, 36-38 years.

And it makes me laugh when I read A-, B+ level for Djokovic in 2023 when he won three slams, reached a fourth final, won ATP Finals, won two Masters and finished the season as #1. And one season later, he won almost nothing. Yet 2023-25 should be clubbed together because Djokovic was 36-38. How else will you explain Fed's run at around the same age?

And age does not matter for Fed from 2001-2003. Because Fed was a 'late bloomer'.

Why are you being insecure? Are people not allowed to make a post to compliment both Federer and Djokovic only? Nobody mentioned Nadal or made any comments about him.

Not every big 3 thread that is made has to be solely about all 3. It can be about one of them or just 2 of them. And given the context of talking about players who are aged 36-38 which are all really old age for tennis player, Nadal isn’t applicable. He wasn’t as good as them at that age and it’s fine, he made up for it when he was younger. So it really doesn’t matter. No need to be insecure lol…

I just wish it was a little greater:
1) 40-15
2) The YEC loss to Goffin.
3) The Thiem loss at Indian Wells (All the Thiem losses really).
4) The Del Potro loss at Indian Wells.
5) The Tsitsichoke at AO.
6) The Dimitrov USO 5 setter.
7) The Kevin Anderson incident.
8) The Novak Paris loss.

As much shit as I give Novak, he usually wins when it's close. In those later years Federer lost so many big matches by a hair it drives me insane.

That's typical Federer though.
