A man linked by police to 150 burglary offences has targeted the Wimbledon home of Boris Becker and his wife Lilly, the BBC's Crimewatch programme has disclosed

Boris Becker’s wife has spoken of how she lives in fear after the couple’s Wimbledon home was targeted multiple times by a “prolific burglar”. Lilly Becker, 37, said the freedom she previously enjoyed at home had been “taken away” and the family was considering moving house.

Security cameras at the property in south-west London captured a man approaching through the back garden and fleeing when he triggered an alarm.
Police suspect the same man, who wears a fisherman’s hat and black clothing, is linked to 150 burglary offences in Wimbledon, where Becker won the men’s tennis championships three times.
Speaking to the BBC’s Crimewatch programme Mrs Becker, a Dutch model, describes the fear that the intrusions had caused her.

“Not only do I have to switch on all the alarms I have to leave some lights on in the house when I am sleeping,” she said. “I can’t enjoy my living room because it is connected to the garden where he has jumped over a few times. “That freedom has been taken away. I would do anything to protect my family but I am a skinny little woman so there’s not a lot I can do. He can’t make this his profession, he cannot just get away with this and take people’s stuff.”

Sitting in front of framed photographs of the couple with their four-year-old son, Amadeus, Mrs Becker adds: “We have even talked about moving and really creating almost a fort, but making it so safe that I feel safe. That shouldn’t be like this.”
The couple married in 2009 and have lived in Wimbledon for several years. The German tennis star has three children from previous relationships.
