Re: Nah, it's never too early!! (The 2006 DC thread!) :p

Roger hasn't yet said whether he'll be playing R1 next year. But my guess is if Switzerland drew USA he would decide to play. Would he and Andy play each other though?

Roger would never miss a chance to play his beloved Andy.

roger sort of "hinted" that he was going to play...

from an article
Having played a vital role in securing his nation’s place in the World Group of Davis Cup by BNP Paribas next year, thanks to a play-off victory against Great Britain, Roger Federer hinted that he will do everything he can to help Switzerland mount a challenge for the trophy next season.

and I would love it if they played chile on grass!!! vamos florida!!! :]

Roger and Andy would be the first match on Sunday. Assuming Roger won his match on Friday against anyone and assuming Andy won his match against the 2nd swiss player (Wawrinka?), and the Bryans in the doubles... it would be Andy/Roger to clinch the tie for the US.... aka it would be Andy's first loss ever in a match to clinch the tie :(

But US still has a good chance of either James / Robby (whoever PMac chooses) beating the Swiss 2nd player. I think the key tie would be the doubles. The Bryans must win against whoever they would play.

I did not realize it would freak people out

Mirkaland, the US doesn't necessarily play at home, we'll find out early tomorrow morning when the draw is made in Paris
