Verdasco in 2009 comes to mind..Bautista-Agut is making a strong case after 2014; he is looking so shitty this year...Any other example of outlier (you say a fluke?) season compared to their usual career level/ player tier?

Cilic is more of case of flash-in-pan for one tournament than a sustained multi-events campaign as far as his 2014.

Rafael Nadal 2010. Fluked to three slams via easy draws and injured opponents.

That's different from Nole's 2011 b/c Djokovic actually played at an insane level.

good trolling.. rafa outplayed Berdych, Melzer, Soderling ,etc all players who destroyed djokovic and federer on previous rounds.

Rafa also dominated djokovic in USO 2010 final.. and made the WTF final at the end of the year.. unlike djokovic who basically dissapeared after USO and lost all his matches in the WTF of that year..very goat-like lol

Pathetic fedtards now drooling over nole because their hero is hopeless to win anything big.

i'm not sure if janowicz should be included, but he has never come close to the level he showed during the end of 2012 and first half of 2013 again

Wawrinka 2014
Wawrinka had great 2013 (Madrid F, RG QF, USO SF, WTF SF) that sort of built him up for 2014..And he's still having a very decent 2015 (Chennai, AO SF, Rotterdam) despite a poor spring NA HC swing..It is more of late career renaissance/potential-achieving run (with Norman) than a fluky year..
