There is a stat that I've never ever heard being mentioned. Rafael Nadal is the only player on history to have reached at least 2 grandslam finals in 7 different years. He could go to 8 if he reaches another final this year (which he is 1 match away from achieving).

Players who have reached at least 2 grandslam finals in a calendar year:

Nadal: 7 (2006-2008;2010-2013)

Federer: 6 (2004-2009), Ivan Lendl (1983-1987;1989)

Sampras: 5 (1993-1995;1997;2000), Bjorn Borg(1976; 1978-1981), Jimmy Connors (1974,1975,1977,1978,1982)

Wilander: 4 (1984;1985;1987;1988)

This stat proves Nadal isn't only playing well in weak era only, showing his persistent dominance in different eras

It's rather impressive. I find Roger's 4 year streak of at least 3 finals more so though.

That said, it certainly shows Nadal is consistent. Very consistent.

Nice achievement from rafa. Not surprising since he won slams since he was 19 y.o.

Federer was two times a point away from making two finals in 2010 and 2011... too bad he couldn't make it.

Yes, It shows consistence. He is 1 match away from achieving that for 8 different years. Lets hope the best there. And not only consistence, also greatness showing up in at least half of the slam finals in a year, no?

Of course. That said, I certainly don't hope he manages 8 in a row here at RG  He can do that at one of the other slams if he's not in Andy's half

But yeah it shows greatness and consistency at the top level of the game. This is Nadal though. We shouldn't expect anything else.

How many times has Nadal reached every final in a year?

Zilch.

The all-time slam leader, however, had done it thrice.

Federer stats are more imporessive, but this one from Nadal is huge too, though. Both amazing players we should be glad we watched them play.

But nadal is a match from reaching at least 2 finals during 8 different years. Even other all time greats such as fed , sampras, borg or lendl didnt go over the 6 mark.

Stop crying, Im talking about a stat that nobody mentioned before, the 3 times all finals of fed is mentioned quite a few times.

Put Nadal but leave out Djokovic who has more than him?

Djokovic: 3 (2011-2013)
He compared those stats with Rafa, because he thinks Im trying to diminish Fed achievements.

He wasnt doing an all time great 3gs list but comparing Fed to Rafa.

Well nole clearly has a short but solid consistence, no? 2011-2013 aint bad , he never reached at least 2 finals outside that period either. Nole is forced to reach finals on the 3 remaining slams to continue the streak, no?
