when all the Big3 participated

Indian Wells: Dominic Thiem (Nadal pulled out though..)
ATP Finals: Stefanos Tsitsipas

on the other side:
AO, RG, W, US
Rome, Madrid

in 2018 they only participated in 3 tournaments together (AO, W, US) and won all 3

Not sure what big 3 means but assuming you mean Nadal,Fed,Djok then that stat is staggering!! Only 3 times in a year where all in same place. Madness

it was due to Nadal skipping Sunshine Double, then Federer skipping clay season, Fed skipping Canada/Nadal skipping Cinci, and finally Nadal injury during US Open..

2017 3 tournaments: AO, Indian Wells and Wimbledon
2016 3 tournaments: AO, Monte Carlo, Rome

That once again shows you the domination of the big 3. Dom nearly won them both.
i think it also shows that we were quite blessed in 2019 with the Big3's health, they played 8 tournaments together.
from 2016 - 18, only 3 tournaments each year.
2015 if i have not misscounted, 11 tournaments

it definitely shows that we should not take the health and competitiveness of all 3, for a whole year, for granted

Yeah this year the big 3 were around at the same tournaments much more due to Federer playing the clay swing (unlike 17 and 18) and Nadal playing more HC tournaments than normal. And of course all 3 were relatively healthy throughout the year.

Nadal pulling out of IW had no impact on the final outcome cause he was scheduled to play Fed not Domi in the SF.
Dominic would have won it anyway methinks.
