Still hoping No1e withdraws from this meaningless event.
That would be a strange move, he's in arguably the best form of his life.
Why would he skip the chance to win Gold plus he seems like a patriotic guy that likes to represent his country
He's doing it for the record books, he will be 37? by the next Olympic games in 2024

This year in the Semi-Final, Nadal played the most error-prone match of his career at Roland Garros, so it would be very weird if Djokovic needed the best form of his life to beat that version of Nadal....
Even that 98 minute 3rd Set (which decided the match, most likely) was decided by a horrible tiebreaker by Nadal, where he served a double-fault and the worst volley of his life....

And in addition to that, Nadal's foot-speed is very slow today compared to 2014, and 2014 was way slower than his 2010 footspeed, and that was slower than 2008....

You play Olympics for your country and win gold medal. That is the significance, representing your country.
Of course, there is nothing to gain if one has brain like countless journeymen who prefer to play Mickey Mouse tournaments instead of Olympics
Exactly
People will soon forget the winners of this month's ATP tournaments but more will remember an Olympic gold medallist, maybe even silver or bronze
Just ask Murray!

Maybe Nishikori is a dark horse for a medal here even without fans in the stadium to support

@Saraya! Tokyo :)

For me the form isn't define by one match though
I'm just saying he is having a great year and it would be silly to not take advantage and go for gold when he's fit and healthy
