Machado's short lived good run ends here, but did have a good fight especially in the 2nd Set. Had many BPs though, and Gimeno-Traver played it well but when serving for the Match he kinda choked and went to TB -- Machado could've capitalized though but played a bad TB while Gimeno-Traver was somewhat solid again. Faces winner of Ramos-Granollers next.

The player more used to the circuit won. Machado stills with lack of intensity.

Gimeno=Traver is a very solid clay court player. Can't understand why he isn't perpetually ranked near the top 50
Because despite being "a very solid clay court player" he loses to likes to Russell and an out-of-form Kubot on clay. And his record off-clay isn't worth talking much about.

tursunov
didn't saw Machado 1st round match, but if he played like this against Tursonov, the russian still had no chance on clay. DGT was real good except that choking game serving for the match at 5-4 40-30. Machado was also good but lacked killer instinct on decisive points. Surely deserved a set today. OP summed the match pretty good. You should really stick to futures. :wavey:

The way Tursunov "played" yesterday he would have no chance on any surface.
Machado is the epitome of weaponless, severely underpowered mug. Three or four times Tursunov actually bothered to step inside the court and send the ball past the service line Machado could do shit.
