Nuno Borges is a really interesting prospect for 2020. Probably most of you don't know him, but at 22 y.o. he's finally starting a full-time pro career at tennis. Why? He was in the USA studying and had an historic career on College.

• 5x All-American (2x doubles)
• 3x South Eastern Conference Player of the Year
• 2017 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) National Champion
• 2019 NCA National Runner-Up (Semifinals in 2017, 2018 and 2019)
• 2019 ITA Division I Player of the Year
• Best MSU tennis player ever with 189 overall wins in 4 years
• Mississippi State’s all-time leader in overall winning percentage (74.4%, 189-65)

Despite his short career on the pro circuit so far he already has 6 ITF titles in singles and 5 in doubles. In 2019 he entered 7 tournaments, 6 of them being ITF. Won 2, reached at least QF in 4 and his only 1st round loss was against the tournament 1st seed. Played one Challenger and got his 1st MD win and only lost to top140 Attila Balaz in 2 really close sets (6-7 4-6) and was up a break in both.

In this topic I'll be updating his progress. There's surely top100 material on his tennis and I project that he'll be already playing at Challenger Level by the end of the 2020 season.

Week 20/01/2020 (so far):

Nuno is playing his 1st tournament of the year on ITF M15 Monastir. Defeated ex junior world number 1 Sebastian Baez (#396, 2nd seed) on the semifinals by 2-6 7-6(5) 6-2. Will play the final tomorrow.

Week 20/01/2020:

1st tournament of the year, 1st title. Nuno Borges cruised against Zizou Bergs in the final by 6-4 7-6 and won the M15 in Monastir. Next week he'll enter another tournament in the same place. He will enter the top600 on the next update.
