it would- i mean who knows for sure when he will hang up up the racket and retire. SO i think it would be nice for him, if he won.
It would justify, the player that he is, and that shut up any opinions (no-one from this forum) that an older man, such as himself cant survive and win grand slams.

If he would reach the final it would be great
wether he wins or loses it, doesn't really matter I think

He would give it his best shot and that would suffice regardless
he could retire a true champion

Agassi always gave his best shot against Fed, but even that is not enough against such a talented player.

I think it would be great if Federer won the title. But let's not get ahead of ourselves since the semis haven't been played yet.

No, because then he really will continue playing, becuse he will have the belief that he is still a contender at the majors. As long as he continues to win titles he'll continue to play. We really will see a 40-year old still trying to win the U.S. Open.

Well, it would certainly be very nice for him.

But here is also a chance for leyton to recover from his 2 year GS hole, a chance for Ginepri to finally hit the big time, and for Roge to wrap up another title and definitively call this a great year. In other words, there are reasons that it would "be very nice if [insert player of your choice] wins the title".
