Sorry, cheesy thread title... couldn't think of anything that rhymes with "gazon"

Here's hoping there will be lots of good grass results to fill this thread... ALLEZ!!!

At least EuroSport are showing Halle this year! :)

At this moment, Richard won't receive a BYE into R2. If Rafa reaches the Final on Sunday, he could withdraw meaning Richard is a top 4 seed.

Maybe it will be better for Richard to play his R1 match?

Looking forward to the grass! Hope he does well in Halle!

Anyone know when Richard will arrive in Halle? It was mentioned Richard will take a few days off. Friday arrival?

I think he needs match practice, so if he plays R1 it would be good. However that could mean a much tougher QF opponent.

^^^ Yes, I agree, R1 would be good for match practice. But I think it would only take one of Nadal, Bot or Kei to withdraw for Richard to be a top 4 seed and get a R1 bye. Not sure Rafa could get away with pulling out again, but Kei may still not be fully fit.

Sergi and Richard both sound keen to start working again, so Friday in Halle seems possible. I guess it also depends what happens with Sergi in the legends at RG. Haven't seen him on the schedule yet. (Seb is in the doubles today, with Santoro.)

Wow I'm little disturbed by the addition of Benoit's sub-forum, that has messed up my habits in the The French Musketeers section.

I hope that his backhand will be fully ready for the grass season. Allez!
Who is supposed to coach him during the grass season? Sergi? Seb? Both?

You, and most of MTF, I think... ;)

I'm hoping it will be both. Sergi has lots to teach Richard about the mental side of things, but Seb obviously had better grass results. I like them spending time together as a trio, and both Seb and Sergi can help improve his forehand.

I think it's supposed to just be Sergi, but maybe the injury and resulting extended lay-off activated Seb. From what I remember of their arrangement (it was in an interview with Sergi that DBR posted a while ago) Seb will do the hard-court swing in the US, Asia, and Australia while Sergi does the European indoor, clay, and grass.

I really like the Sergi vocal support for Richard, recently Richard has been more pumped up, showing his positive emotion. This always gets a player pumped up!!

With Sergi very likely to be with Richard during the grass season, hopefully this trend continues. Sergi using his fists, more emotion.

As Richard is playing 5 tournaments before the US Open, I hope Sergi will be part of that as he missed the clay season with Richard.

Both coaches are playing tomorrow (Friday), against each other. ;)

Not sure when either of them will leave for Halle...

Men's Legends Under 45
Sebastien Grosjean (FRA)
Fabrice Santoro (FRA)

vs.

Sergi Bruguera (ESP)
Andrei Medvedev (UKR)

Richard was on French TV before the SF's today (Friday). As far as I can tell, he's still in Paris. (He predicted a rafole final.)

Sergi is also playing doubles in the legends on Saturday.

Halle draw is out... not too bad. Good to be in Rafa's half as he has some potentially tough matches early on.

http://www.atpworldtour.com/posting/2014/500/mds.pdf

R1: Haase
R2: Kubot/ Falla
QF: Bot/ Gojowczyk/ Przysiezny
SF: Nadal/ Brown/ Kohli/ Janowicz
F: Fed (Youzhny, Haas, Karlovic, Kei, & Monfils also in this half)

Good that Richard is playing R1 and not just starting with Kubot. :yeah:

Allez!!!! :)

Good draw :yeah:
Kubot would be a good test on grass. And yes definitely agree that starting with Kubot would have been terrible.

I trust decod16 to have done the numbers correctly. According to his thread, Richie is as of now scheduled for the 12th seed at Wimbledon(counting DP's withdrawal).

Thanks for the link, Pratik. Am I reading things correctly that Dimitrov would have to get a final or better to overtake Richard? And that Tsonga (or anyone else lower) can't now catch Richard?

Has Richard arrived in Halle??
I haven't seen him yet, but I think he must be there. He had dinner with Jo on Friday night "before going to Germany" so he may have travelled yesterday. Sergi had a legends doubles match Saturday am, but nothing after that. Hoping to see a practice pic of them on grass today. :)

You are looking at the wrong column. The second last column is the current total. Last is maximum points. You are further making a mistake by forgetting that the next week points will count double(and last year's Halle/Queens will drop only once).

Ok, I get the wrong column bit. But why would next weeks points count double?

And does Richard have to go at least one round better than Dimi next week, and at least the same round as everyone else below him? Or is it just not possible to work out at this point?
