Novak has won 7 slams and 19 Masters 1000's in the era of Fed/Nadal. An era where two players won a combined 31 Grand Slam Titles and a combined 48 Masters 1000 Titles.

This is a big accomplishment, Novak has faced two of the greatest tennis players in the history of the sport, Djokovic should be considered part of the duo..He sits alongside the other two as the third in three of the greatest to play the sport. What Novak has done takes balls, no other player has come close to challenging Fed and Nadal at this level.

Its true. He should have had more if it wasnt for some unexplainable losses to nadal and murray.

hes the 3rd best baseliner of all time, behind fedal
will probably end up around the 10-11 slam count when hes done, not many baseliners above him.

he is forever still a bitch of fedal. regardless.

it is a good achievement but fedal is still the real gods of tennis. Being fedal is better than Djoker for sure.

I was about to say he has underachieved. Considering his talent, he really should be on ten majors by now. He still might get to ten.
He will get ten Federers not winning any more slams only Nadal, Murray and possibly Dimitrov will ever beat him from here on.

The Djokers 2011, relative to the era he is in was probably the greatest year in tennis history.

He truly was in beast mode. In 2011, he was mentally and physically miles ahead of everyone. He could defend and attack with great efficiency. Everyone misses Djokovic 2.0. The current version is not bad, but mentally, the guy is very fragile.

Its more of his defensive ability and motivation had dropped resulting in this mental state.

He changed his game to hit more aggressively to prepare for post prime career.

Haha your bitterness tastes delciious. Novak has more talent in his little finger than Dull has in his whole body. Yesterday's final was brilliant. Two players hitting an incredible amount of winners and going for their shots, no moonballing and waiting for UE.

Nadal is lucky Djoker sorted out his health issues too late and has been headcasing recently. Look at all of Novak's wins, who he beat to get there, then look at Nadal's cakewalk draws. Flukedal outdid himself in 2010 :worship:

Undoubtedly, that year and Roger's 2006 are the greatest years in history. The numbers they had in those years was breathtaking. But I can see why some would give the edge to Nole. 41 match winning streak, 6-0 against Nadal, 5-1 against Roger, 5 masters and 3 slams? Astonishing :worship:

Like the guy or not that is an incredible feat that can't be argued with. That made him legendary enough, but now he is at 7 slams tied with the great Johnny Mac :)

Huge accomplishment :yeah: - but pity he has been so mentally fragile in slam semis and finals against Murray and Nadal for the last 2 years - I agree with a previous poster that Novak really should be on 10 slams by now, and 2013 RG really was his for the taking - that smash and then running into the net though , I'm seriously hoping he can win 1 FO title before he retires.

Djokovic won't finish in the same league as Roger and Rafa in terms of slams won or hold crazy achievements, but he should be remembered as the only player who was able to break through the Roger/Rafa duopoly to get to world number 1 in 2011, and has played some epic matches against both of them.

I think Novak has probably 2 years left in him - lets hope he maximises his potential and wins as many slams as he possibly can.
Long live 2011 - 2012 AO - Djoker beating Nadal in 3 consecutive slam finals :worship:, come on Novak - it's time to beat Nadal in slams once again!
